Hey guys! You're probably on a sugar high while reading this blog post from all the candy that you have eaten tonight! With a giant bowl of candy next to me, I'm super tempted to eat them. Maybe I will. Just one. Or two. Or a few dozen. ;)
I'll just tell you what happened today. Nothing too special but also not boring like just staying at home the whole day. Okay, so first off, I had school. Boring, boring, boring!
After school, I started to dress up and get ready to go out. I wasn't going trick or treating, I went to a local market which had a special Halloween edition tonight. When we got there, we were so disappointed. All that there was, was around 5 stalls that like only sold one or two things each. It's such a small area but there was like cars parked all throughout the car park (not a super large car park, but it seems to be able to have like a few dozen cars? Haha like an average amount! It could probably fit 50-ish cars. When we were getting dropped off, we thought "wow, didn't expect there to be so many people already!" because the market started at 5pm so we went at around 5.30pm. As we were walking towards the stalls, there was lots of people walking back out (because there's only one path going to and from there). Now I realize why they were leaving so early! We just walked by the stalls to see if anything interested us but we were like bored already because there's like nothing special happening either. Like it wasn't really that Halloween-y because only one or two stalls sold Halloween related products (which were sweet stuff like candy, Halloween themed cupcakes and cake pops) and without all the kids dressed up, the market would've just looked like a typical, super small, market.
We left maybe like 10 minutes after arriving to the stall and we just walked around. We actually walked for quite a while which makes me feel less guilty when eating junk food! Haha even though it's still bad for my body, I always just think that, "Oh, I already burned off fat for that earlier so it's fine." After walking for a little while, there were these three adorable kids that were waiting by their door for people to come get candy from them! At first we were kinda just ignoring them because we weren't really going trick or treating, we were just wandering around but those kids were too kind! Like it's great to see people actually enjoying Halloween because I swear, each year, more and more New Zealanders don't do anything for Halloween. Like no costumes, no house decorations and no candy for kids! I mean, they should at least give out some candy! Even though sometimes when we run out of candy, the kids would be pretty disappointed but my house is like down a long driveway so the chance of kids actually coming down is low but there was like 3 groups of kids that came to my house today. Good thing that we have enough candy! We don't usually buy too much because we know that there won't be that many people coming down our driveway. Oops, kinda got sidetracked haha! Oh yeah, about the kids wanting people to have some of their candy. We went over to them (they were across the street) and they gave us these marshmallows, like individually packaged ones that have some raspberry jam-like substance in it. After that, we just played on a playground. Haha, no one can EVER get too old for playgrounds! Unless the playground has like an age limit (like the playgrounds in Hong Kong :'( )
After all that talking, I forgot to show you my costume for Halloween! Here it is:
Can you guys guess what I was? I was... MINNIE MOUSE! Blue edition though! haha
I didn't take any photos of me in my entire outfit but I'll just explain it to you now. From head to toe.
*Minnie Mouse headband (of course, can't be Minnie without one!) My one was bought from Disneyland Japan
*Little black nose (It's just eye liner)
*Red lips (Done with red lipstick. It doesn't really seem that red on the image though. Sorry about that!)
*Stitch umbrella necklace (Stitch from Lilo and Stitch <3) Bought from Disneyland Hong Kong
*Black tank top (Tucked underneath skirt)
*Denim skirt (I borrowed it from my friend because I had no blue clothes suitable for the costume)
*Black tights (Because Minnie has black legs)
*Mickey Mouse gloves. Bought from Disneyland (One of the ones in USA)
*Black flats (You could wear any pair of shoes that suit the outfit but you can just never go wrong with black flats)
That's it for now! I'm getting really sleepy!
Tell me what you dressed up as for Halloween 2013 and what you did to celebrate it! I hope you all had a fantastic time!
Love,
Elaine
